The other great thing about visiting Boston is it’s close to so many other towns and cities. For a fun day trip, especially in the summer, visit Newport, Rhode Island. This is a wonderful spot to relax on the beach, sample some frozen lemonade, and tour mansions. Another nice spot in Providence, Rhode Island, home to Brown University and a nice, smaller, family-friendly city.
